Center for Neurology
Neurology is a medical specialty dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Specifically, it deals with the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of all categories of disease involving the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems.
The Center for Neurology at South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine provide compassionate evaluation and treatment of:
- Cognitive syndromes
- Headache disorders such as migraine, cluster headache and tension headache
- Neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease).
- cerebrovascular disease, such as transient ischemic attack and stroke.
- Movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, hemiballismus, tic disorder, and Gilles de la Tourette syndrome
- Disorders of peripheral nerves and muscle (myopathy)
The Center for Neurology is lead by a physician who is Board Certified by American Board of Neurology, and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. We offer patients the added convenience of on-site medical imaging, nerve conduction testing, and physical therapy.
