William E. Carlson, MD is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. Dr. Carlson is the Managing Partner of South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. He earned his Medical Degree from the St. Louis School of Medicine, Missouri. Dr. Carlson completed his Orthopaedic Surgical Residency and Surgical Residency at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Dr. Carlson has practiced general orthopaedics for over 22 years. Additionally, he holds several administrative appointments at Martin Memorial Health Systems, including President of the Medical Staff, Member of the Board of Directors, and Co-Chairman of the Professional Affairs Committee. Dr. Carlson is an Assistant Professor in the College of Medicine at Florida State University. He formerly was the Founder of North Suburban Orthopaedics and Partner of Comprehensive Medical Care in Minnesota.
Dr. Carlson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a Life Member of the University of Illinois Alumni, and a Member of the White Coat Society, SLU and Dubourg Society, SLU. Dr. Carlson belongs to the Florida Medical Association, Martin County Medical Society, and St. Louis University Alumni Association.
Dr. Carlson is a Member of the Speakers Bureau in South Florida and has presented nationally. His orthopedic research is published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
