Many diseases of bones and joints are commonly called “Arthritis” or “Rheumatic Diseases.” Some of the more common rheumatic diseases include:

Persistent, severe aches and pains that are interfering with day-to-day functions, along with swelling around one or more joints, can be a worrisome sign. Whether a patient’s condition is simple or complex, prompt diagnosis and treatment are important. Some types of arthritis can be totally cured when effectively diagnosed and treated soon enough. Other types of arthritis are chronic (ongoing) diseases. Non-surgical treatment, including medications, often in conjunction with appropriate physical therapy and exercise programs, can relieve pain and increase function. In addition, many major advances have been made using surgical treatment for some forms of arthritis.

The Center for Rheumatology at South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine specializes in the compassionate care of patients in our community living with rheumatic diseases. Our Board-Certified Rheumatologist can work closely with your primary care physician to identify your Rheumatic problem and design an individualized treatment plan to help relieve your pain and increase your participation in daily living!
